We build mobile developer communities, and the WIP Factory is where we do it.
You might know us from our WIPJam events, our developer website, or maybe you’ve run into us at one of the thousands of mobile events we’ve attended around the world. But there’s another side to WIP you might not be so familiar with: the WIP Factory. Our experience building mobile developer communities runs deep, from creating WIP’s 15,000+ strong community to our team’s earlier work with national, regional and local associations, work at companies like Symbian, Nokia and RIM, and more. Now, the WIP Factory is here to help build your company’s mobile developer community and program.
We offer a wide range of services from high-level strategic planning to all kinds of feet-on-the-ground tactical support (see the “What We Do” tab above); the WIP Factory has individual tools that can help with single, specific tasks and goals, or an entire assembly line to take on the end-to-end running of your mobile developer program.
The WIP Factory is part of the Wireless Industry Partnership (WIP), an international company that builds mobile developer communities. WIP is the connector for mobile developers, and supports the overall mobile ecosystem by encouraging discussion, co-creation, partnerships and exchange.
WIP was established in 2006, and is an international company based in Vancouver, Canada, with offices in London and Austin, Texas. It enjoys a strong reputation in the mobile developer community based on its long-running WIPJam events, which aim to give a voice to mobile developers. WIPJams were created to fill a void in the mobile developer community, offering inclusive and democratic events that are open to all in the mobile ecosystem and reach developers in a highly interactive and creative environment. We’ve held more than 50 events all over the world, and developers flock to them because they’re fun, interesting and give them a chance to have their voice heard.
About the WIP Factory
The WIP Factory is the first marketing agency that specializes in working with mobile developers. As WIP grew its own community of mobile developers, we began applying our experience, lessons and tools to help other companies build their own developer programs and communities and developed the WIP Developer Marketing Framework to benchmark, analyze and advise companies on their developer program activities.
The WIP Factory is built on three key pillars:
- Our global presence, contacts and understanding
- Our vast experience working with mobile developers and developer programs
- Our creative approach to developer outreach activities
We’ve put our tools and assembly line to work for a number of leading companies worldwide, including:
- GSM Association
